This is a first for the Lincoln Diocese. The idea began as a Men's Conference, but after the leadership team discussed it, we concluded that a conference was putting the cart ahead of the horse. Before men get fired up and ready to go out and do something, we need to train, fine-tune our understanding of the vision and mission, and build our team of brothers who will accompany and support us on the mission. And what about that mission? We need to be crystal clear on the mission before we can even envision it, much less go out in an attempt to take part in the execution of the mission. So, with collaboration with leaders from across the country, we came up with the pre-conference idea of a leadership summit. At the summit, you will receive a fine-tuned explanation of the mission, the vision, the playbook on how to execute the mission, and the tools, equipment, training, and sustained routines and practices you will need in order to be an effective leader in your personal life, in your role as a leader of your household, in your parish, and in the community around your parish. And maybe most importantly, you will learn how to form or join your team of brothers who will accompany you on this mission.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a summit?
A summit is a meeting of leaders. The leaders, for purposes of this summit are lay and clergy leaders from each parish in the Diocese of Lincoln.
Who is it for?
The men who are currently in leadership roles in their parish, or who have the skills and gifts to potentially become leaders in their parish.
What is the goal of the summit?
To assist men in understanding their mission as a Catholic man, and to develop a strategy to successfully fulfill their duty as a Catholic man personally, in their family, in their parish, and in their community. We have had a hard time creating disciples in the diocese, and this is an effort to significantly improve.
What is my time commitment?
Only one day (10 hours).
After the Summit, you decide if you will do something and if so, how much time you wish to commit to it. This is not designed to get you to commit any additional time to your volunteer work. In fact, it should reduce the amount of time to spend with volunteer work.
When is the Summit?
Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 7am to 5pm.
Where is the Summit?
There will be three locations across the diocese. For the Eastern part of the diocese, it will be at the North American Martyrs Catholic Church in Lincoln. For the middle part of the diocese, it will be at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings. For the Western part of the diocese, it will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in McCook. The Hastings and McCook locations will have the Lincoln events live-streamed and also have parts of the day at their own location.
How much will this cost?
We will only ask for a free will offering. Once we know the numbers, we’ll be able to give you a reasonable estimate for our costs, but we only ask that each attendee support us according to his own financial means.
What is included?
Mass, confessions, brotherhood, 3 talks, breakfast, lunch, time for prayer, and resources. See the schedule.
Is this a diocesan program?
No. While Bishop Conley fully supports this, the Summit is a lay led movement within the diocese.
